Real things gardeners say at our counter in Kitsilano,.
Most gardeners water, weed, and wait, then end up with a jungle of leaves and barely a flower. More often than not, it isn't your thumb. It's feeding the right thing at the right time. Every fertilizer bag shows three numbers, N-P-K:
N - Nitrogen
Leaves and green growth. Great early, too much later gives you all plant and no fruit.
P - Phosphorus
Flowers and fruit. The high middle number in Power Bloom 2-8-4 is what sets tomatoes and blooms.
K - Potassium
Strong roots and overall strength, so the plant holds up through heat and a long season.

This guide is what he tells customers at the counter every July, written down. You don't have to take his word for anything: come ask him at the shop, or watch him on YouTube first.

The months in the calendar follow Vancouver and coastal BC, where the season is mild and long. Garden colder, in the Prairies, the interior, or further north? The calendar gives you one simple rule: wait for your last spring frost, then shift everything 2 to 4 weeks later. Go by your last-frost date, not the month. And the Gaia Green feeds ship free across Canada.
Each feeding window comes once and moves on with the season. The calendar keeps you a step ahead of it.
